This is a spectacular and valuable piece, not to mention a timeless classic.  This handmade vintage traditional Persian Kashan is extremely fine quality and in mint condition.  Hand-knotted in the 1990s, this rug has a full soft pile throughout with no imperfections. It can withstand high traffic and will continue to last for generations. Made with very fine quality wool, a high knot count or KPSI (knots per square inch) and superior craftsmanship, this rug has exquisite and precise details.  The traditional floral and medallion design is intricately woven on a rich crimson red background with concentric medallions and borders in ivory, azure blue and midnight blue.  The medallion of this rug is particularly striking with its curvilinear designs and abundant blooms.  The elegant and highly detailed flowers and vines, sprays and bouquets fill the rug in perfect symmetry with a vast array of striking spring colors made from natural dyes: lemonade pink, shell pink, pale sky blue, orange, sea green, tawny, marigold, sapphire blue, mint green, and countless other vivid colors that pop.  The stunning corners perfectly echo the medallion, leading to the midnight blue border with its complementary larger floral and vine garland in the same colors, itself framed by thin ribbons of charming small flowers on azure blue and ivory backdrops.  The photos don't do the rug justice - it is a true masterpiece!  Size:  11'4"x16'5"
