This is a stunning top quality and very unique vintage Persian Bidjar, hand-knotted in the 1990's and in mint condition.  This rug is a hard-to-find almost square size and the intricacies of the pattern along with the spectacular colors make this an unforgettable piece.  This rug was handmade in a region known for its brilliant colors and incredibly detailed designs, along with fine craftsmanship and double knots that make Bidjars known as "iron rugs".  The fine quality wool and the full dense pile can withstand high traffic and will continue to last for generations.  The central medallion is the stunning heart of the rug with multiple layers of color and  spectacular flower details shell and lemonade pink, midnight blue, mint green, burnt orange, strawberry red, fern green, pale powder blue, plum, sky blue, pink and orange coral and countless other colors, all made from only natural dyes.  These same accent colors appear throughout the rug, forming small flower and fish repeats against the persimmon backdrop, adding bright yellow, sapphire, cornflower blue, dusty rose, olive and a huge array of other colors that you have to get closer to see in all their glory.   The corners are perhaps the most special elements of this amazing rug, midnight blue backdrops full of similar colorful repeating patterns and adorned with spectacular floral bouquets that echo the medallion against ivory backdrops that allow the colorful delicate bouquets to really pop.  They are encircled by stunning, elegant and highly detailed leaf patterns in spearmint green for a phenomenal and dramatic effect. The persimmon border has its own floral and vine pattern that is a spring garden in glorious colorful bloom.  Size: 8'3"x9'5"
