This is a palace size handmade vintage Persian Tabriz in mint condition. The rug is extremely fine quality, made with a very high knot count or KPSI (knots per square inch) for incredibly precise details. It was also made with fine quality wool, natural dyes and exquisite craftsmanship. This design has the most exquiite intricate details in a glorious array of colors, with concentric borders leading to a central medallion. It is a classic traditional Persian Tabriz design. Midnight blue is the color of the rug's edging, background and border, an elegant canvas for tiny repeating floral and vine and other delicate motifs in more colors than we could possibly name. Aquamarine, azure blue, copper, ballet slipper pink, plum, orange coral, teal, pale yellow, olive, silver, mint green and countless others. Ivory and orange coral also serve as the backdrop for other concentric layers with the same intricate detailing, and the colors pop and shift depending on the light. Note the necklace like detailing in teal and yellow that separates each section. This rug becomes even more stunning as you get closer, and the photos don't do it justice. Note that there are some areas of abrash, the variation in natural dyes that commonly occurs with handmade rugs that use natural dyes. This adds to the unique one of a kind handnade nature of the rug. Size: 11'9"x16'
