This is one of the finest rugs in our entire collection. It is a traditional vintage Persian Nain, handmade of fine silk and fine wool with a high knot count (KPSI, knots per square inch) for exquisite precision and superior craftsmanship. The rug is known as a 6LA (layer), which is one of the finest Nain rugs available. This rug was likely made for a palace or aristocracy in the 1970s and is it in truly mint condition. The rug's phenomenally detailed floral and vine patterns surround the spectacular central medallion and fill the rug's field and borders with their intricate beauty. The lush jade/sea green background is an elegant setting for the sand and cornflower blue medallion with white, plum, midnight blue and sapphire accents. The open field and and the complementary ivory border are adorned with perfectly symmetrical flowers, petals, floral sprays and bouquets in the colors of the medallion and other subtle and neutral complements to the blues and greens of the rug. All colors are made of only natural dyes. This piece will be a statement in any room and will continue to last for generations and hold its value. Size: 12'8"x20'1"
