This is a rare find - a handmade vintage Persian Kashan Dabir, a rug known for its incredibly fine quality, in 10x16 and in mint condition. This rug is a collector's piece. Hand-knotted in the 1980s by master weavers, this rug is made from the highest quality wool that comes from the softest parts of the lamb. It is handmade with superior craftsmanship, a high knot count (or KPSI, knots per square inch) and only vegetable and other natural dyes. The traditional floral and medallion design is exquisitely woven in intricate details by hand on a crimson red background with a spectacular medallion of azure blue, midnight blue and ivory, colors which appear prominently again in the elegant borders.  This rug was likely woven for aristocracy and could have easily been made for a palace.  The floral details throughout are unique for their incredible array of colors that go beyond the typical colorway for this style of rug.  Note the burnt orange, taupe, cornflower blue, rose pink, magenta, mint and sage, olive and teal, golden yellow, burgundy and fruit punch, mauve and pale yellow, sapphire, chartreuse, olive green and countless other colors.  This rug is particularly notable for the thick beautiful border with elegant shades of blue. Size:  10'2"x16'3"
