This brand new fine quality Oushak area rug was handmade in India with a very thick pile that is soft underfoot and great for high traffic areas. It will last generations. This rug is made with fine craftsmanship and quality wool.  The allover modern geometric & floral design is a hallmark of contemporary Oushak rugs, derived from antique Turkish Oushak designs that date back to the Ottoman Empire.  This Oushak has a bright royal blue background, the perfect setting for the beautiful details and intricate tribal and floral motifs in complementary and contemporary colors: apple red, sage green, golden yellow, taupe, heather gray and crimson.  The allover playful design continues in the complementary border of large tribal flower and vine motifs in the same tones on a crimson backdrop, framed by thin rows of golden yellow with garlands of red, green, blue and white, culminating in a wonderful gray fringe for an added element of interest.  All colors are made from only natural dyes.  There is one small area where the dyes have a subtle natural variation, known as 'abrash' (see last photo).  This adds to the authentic handmade one-of-a-kind nature of the rug.  Size: 7'9"x9'10"
