This gorgeous palace size rug is an extremely fine quality contemporary rug handmade in India. It's a modern rug whose design is based on Persian Heriz rugs with geometric, nomadic designs and bold prominent medallions.  This rug has a notably soft, thick pile that is heavenly underfoot, great for high traffic areas and will last generations.  The watermelon pink backdrop is a luscious setting for the intricate geometric details that are hand-knotted in a beautiful array of colors.  The star flower at the hear of the rug is made up of carnation pink and mocha, olive green, ballet slipper pink, teal blue, hunter green and periwinkle blue and ivory.  This is surrounded by a midnight blue layer and ivory petals, which leads to the watermelon pink open field.  These layers are adorned with tiny flowers on the vine and leaves, along with other charming motifs, hand-knotted in the same rich colors as the medallion details.  Ivory corners lighten and brighten the rug, echoing the central flower and ending with beautiful sea green corners, all of which continue to be decorated with intricate tribal floral motifs.
