This is an elegant vintage handmade Persian Koliai rug/runner that is known as a "gallery size" for the ratio between its length and width.  It can be used as a wide runner in a hallway or entryway or as an area rug for more narrow spaces such as in front of a couch or a bed. The chic copper and ivory repeating diamond pattern is made up of midnight blue lines and small red flowers which create the backdrop for a stunning central floral medallion and corners in exquisite details and colors.  The gorgeous flower in full bloom at the center of the rug is hand-knotted in a bright strawberry red with midnight blue petals and small flowers and other accents in lemonade pink,bright peach, azure blue, fern green, champagne, ivory, turquoise, silver, and countless other colors.  The flower echoes in the corners for a beautiful symmetry.  The border is a thick ribbon of midnight blue that has a geometric floral and vine pattern in all of the rug's vibrant colors. It is framed by two thin ribbons of strawberry red with charming colorful small blue flowers on the vine. This creates a very luxurious rug in both look and feel.  Hand-knotted in the 1980's, this rug is in mint condition, has a notably plush, soft and remarkably cushy, comfortable pile that can withstand high traffic and will last generations.
