This fine quality brand new handmade Afghan Baluch accent rug has a beautiful geometric design with colorful and ornate accents.  Hand-knotted in the villages of Northwest Afghanistan, rugs such as these have been made by Baluchi tribal weavers for generations.  The design is hand-knotted with crisp details and a high knot count on a bright strawberry red backdrop.  Copper, midnight blue, fern green, plum and ivory bring the patterns to life, forming three central medallions that are surrounded by elegant flourishes and charming small flower and leaf motifs.  The border is a particularly decorative element of the rug with a repeating geometric leaf motif in all of the rug's accent colors, framed by thin rows of colorful ribbon.   Made by hand with natural wool and only natural dyes, this rug can withstand high traffic and will last lifetimes.
