This is a beautiful and fine quality brand new handmade Afghan Baluch accent rug. Hand-knotted in the villages of Northwest Afghanistan, rugs such as these have been made by Baluchi tribal weavers for generations.  The bold double medallion geometric design is hand-knotted with crisp details and a high knot count on a navy blue backdrop.  The whimsical medallions with elegant flourishes are hand-knotted in golden yellow, and the intricate designs within are bright green, red, white, periwinkle blue, plum and royal blue.  Small charming red flowers dot the blue open field and surround the medallions.   The border is a particularly decorative and unique element of the rug with a series of rainbow colored chevrons surrounding the rug and adding vibrant and cheerful details that are not often found in rug's from this region.  Made by hand with natural wool and only natural dyes, this rug can withstand high traffic and will last lifetimes.
