The colors have that unique patina and abrash (natural variation) that only comes with antique handmade rugs made with natural and vegetable dyes. The muted shades of blue and coral in this rug are the stuff that dreams are made from: peach coral and rose coral, sapphire and indigo, shell pink, pale peach, soft sage and mint green, ivory, bone, midnight blue and countless other colors are hand-knotted in intricate floral and tribal motifs that create the spectacular central flower medallion and surrounding designs for this masterpiece. The colors are muted and yet deeply rich, made from only vegetable dyes that continue to last for 100s of years. The border is the perfect match to the medallion, a luxurious midnight blue with an elegant garland of flowers on the vine in shades of blue and coral and rose. You have to see this rug in person to truly appreciate its splendor.  The very thin, even low pile is typical for rugs of this age and from this region, with no holes or patches or tears.  Despite its age, the rug is sturdy due to its fine quality and can handle foot traffic.
