This contemporary rug was handmade in Afghanistan in a classic antique allover Persian Heriz design.  The intricate geometric and floral pattern was hand-knotted by expert weavers using only natural dyes and fine quality wool.  The subtle, somewhat muted color palette creates an elegant rug and the allover design makes it versatile enough for almost any room.  The wine colored background is the perfect setting for the repeating leaf and flower motifs in a perfectly symmetrical interlocking design.   Muted shades of sapphire blue, sky blue, silver, lime green, midnight blue, taupe and grass green fill the rug with color and pattern.  Note how the colors are often variegated, a beautiful and unique part of the weaving and the dyes.  The complementary border is a harmonious frame in midnight blue with its own geometric flower garland in all the colors of the rug, surrounded by thin silver rows of tiny colorful flowers on the vine.  Great for high traffic, this rug has a thin, sturdy pile that is soft underfoot and will last generations.  Size: 9'2"x12'2"
