This high quality rug was hand-knotted in China by weavers trained in the Persian Tabriz design. This rug is woven of silk and wool and has a high knot count, or KPSI (knots per square inch), as evidenced in the fine level of detail not only on the front but also on the back! The traditional Tabriz design is also known as a "fish design", the small curled lines representing fish.  The color palette is pastel, in rose, gray, ivory, mint, lavender and countless other subtle colors, all made from only vegetable and other natural dyes.  You can get lost in the endless detail throughout the rug's concentric medallions and exquisite borders.  Size: 8'7"x11'8"
