This rug is made with fine craftsmanship and high quality wool.   The geometric design is based on tribal Kazakh patterns that date back centuries.  Here a series of three "footed" medallions run down the center of the rug, hand-knotted in marigold yellow, royal blue, cream, forest green and sky blue.  The cherry red backdrop has small playful tribal motifs in the open field that echo the medallions in style and colors, resembling natural elements such as flowers and stars. The border is a cream-colored frame of geometric repeating motifs in all of the rug's happy colors, framed by thin rows of bright sky blue.
